Rock Climbing lessons and guided climbs take place at Quincy Quarry in Quincy. Once a working granite quarry, this popular recreation area is now home to a number of great toprope climbing spots which provide spectators with great panoramic views of the city skyline and surrounding area. In 1826, the first railroad in the United States started at the Quarries and moved granite from the site to building projects along the eastern seaboard. Today the abandoned quarry is a recreation are for the city of Boston and popular rock climbing destination for aspiring climbing, boulders and even seasoned climbers staying in shape for bigger trips to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. If you don’t mind a little paint on the rocks, this is a great spot to rock climb. Hammond Pond is another climbing location and is located in Newton. This spot is great for groups and those looking for a more pristine rock face. Rock climbing at each location can be done almost year round, but most programs run between April and November during the warmer months. All rock climbing instructors are American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) Certified, and are first aid and CPR certified.

Kayaking is a very popular activity in the Boston Area. We offer both flatwater (lakes & ponds) and harbor paddling adventures from a number of different locations throughout the Eastern Massachusetts area. Basic kayaking lessons are available at Hopkinton State Park and require advanced booking unless otherwise indicated. Lessons are prescheduled at the beginning of the season (calendar of dates available online); but private, group and family paddling days are also available upon special request. Kayaking tours are available in Hingham Harbor from June through September. These are also prescheduled (check dates online) and great for anyone looking to venture out into the harbor and usually last for 3 hours. No previous experience is required for paddling programs and all equipment is provided for programs at no extra cost. We just ask that you arrive dressed appropriate for the weather (paddle shoes required, no sandals please) and bring snacks and water for the day. In addition to years experience and local knowledge, all kayak programs are taught and led by American Canoe Association (ACA) Certified Instructors. Kayak Instructors also hold CPR and first aid certification.
