OVERNIGHT TRIPS

Mount Washington Observatory Overnight

This unique experience combines the challenge of a winter ascent of the Northeast’s highest peak with the rare opportunity to spend the night on the summit inside the Mount Washington Observatory’s legendary mountaintop weather station. We’ll climb Mt. Washington’s eastern flank, aiming to be above treeline around noon. From there, we’ll cross the desolate landscape of the Alpine Garden, where the winds are often at their fiercest, and head up the summit cone. READ MORE

2 Day Mountaineering Workshop

Here’s the perfect combination: We will combine daytime mountain travel with a night of winter camping on the mountainside. We’ll get started by covering proper route planning, equipment and meal selection, then head into the mountains. That afternoon, we’ll establish a high campsite within striking distance of a major peak on the Presidential Ridge. We will have dinner and then head to bed. In the morning we will eat breakfast and ready ourselves for a day of above treeline travel. With your guide, you’ll take an active role in determining how the weather forecast, trail conditions and the party’s fitness all influence the choice of routes, and which peaks we will summit. The next morning we will get ready for a day of above treeline travel.
