NEWPORT ‘CITY BY THE SEA’ BIKE TOUR

One of America’s oldest cities, Newport is rich in coastal beauty, colonial history, and eclectic shops and restaurants, making it one of the most popular summertime tourist destinations in all of New England. Its waterfront location is the perfect start and end point for a great day of cycling. After each day’s ride, we’ll meet as a group for dinner in the main restaurant, and then you’re free to walk down Thames Street to enjoy all the nightlife Newport has to offer.

    Day 1

Our first day of riding is a 50-mile cruise along the gorgeous coastline of Newport Harbor, with a 30-mile option for those who prefer more time on the town. At the end of the ride, we’ll board the Schooner Adirondack and enjoy the ocean under sail power followed by a group dinner
at the hotel’s Pier 49 restaurant.

    Day 2
Today’s ride starts with a bus trip to the small town of Tiverton for a longer day (50-70 miles) along the east side of RI. Tiverton is located on the eastern shore of Narragansett Bay. From here, we’ll make our way to Sakonnet Harbor, where we’ll enjoy lunch on the busy working waterfront before heading to the quiet roads of Little Compton and beyond.

    Day 3
We’ll make the absolute most of our last day by setting out for the town of Bristol, home of the Herreshoff Marine Museum. You’ll enjoy awesome views along the shore before we roll into Colt State Park, where we’ll stop to take in the sounds and sights of Narragansett Bay. Those wanting a longer ride can continue along the East Bay bike path into Providence before returning to our start point.
