Making Good On Our Snow Promise

69.8" of snow on Mount Washington during December 2012 means $10 in the pockets of some lucky EMS Rewards Members.

Back in November, I wrote a post about how we at Eastern Mountain Sports were so confident we’d have a snowy winter that we offered an exclusive Snow Bonus. I’m happy to say that it’s TIME TO PAY UP.

December 2012 brought 69.8″ of snow to the Mount Washington Observatory, burying the 30-year average of 45.5″. As a result, any EMS Rewards member who spent $100 or more during the month of November will be receiving a $10 Snow Bonus Coupon via email this Friday!  This coupon is just like cash and can be used on ANYTHING at any Eastern Mountain Sports store and online at ems.com.

Perks like this are just one of the many benefits of our new customer rewards program. Launched last September, EMS Rewards offers you points for EVERY purchase you make from Eastern Mountain Sports: You earn 1 point for every dollar you spend on any sale or clearance item and that’s just the beginning. You also earn 5 points for every dollar you spend on full-price items from national brands like The North Face, Mountain Hardwear, Black Diamond, Petzl and SmartWool, as well as 10 points for every dollar you spend on full-price EMS brand items. So even if the gear you’re buying isn’t on sale, you’re earning valuable points to use in the future. It’s free to join and your points are redeemed every six months in the form of a Rewards Certificate we send you via email in April and October of each year. Once you receive your Rewards Certificate, you have another six months to use it so there’s no rush.

Remember! You earn points for EVERY purchase you make at Eastern Mountain Sports. Rent a kayak, bike, tent or sleeping bag before you buy and you’ll earn a point for every dollar you spend. The same goes for tech services. Come in to get your skis sharpened or your bike tuned and you’ll earn a point for every dollar you spend on service in our stores or gear repairs at our corporate headquarters. You also earn points on group/private lessons and tours at our 17 Adventure School locations throughout the northeast. From beginner climbing and paddling lessons to multi-day backpacking and mountaineering treks and bike tours, our expert instructors can help you reach new levels of performance while you earn valuable points towards your next gear purchase, or– since points can be redeemed on all school programs–your next lesson!
