Meet the staff of our new store in Lynnfield Massachusetts!

Events

Located just off Route 128 at the MarketStreet shopping center, the new Eastern Mountain Sports Lynnfield, Massachusetts store is now open and ready to outfit local residents and adventurers passing through on their way to Maine or the White Mountains. We take a tremendous amount of pride in the knowledgeable and helpful men and women who work in each of our 68 stores from Maine to Virginia and our Lynnfield crew is no exception.  With some of the coolest photos I’ve seen and best nickname I’ve ever heard (looking at you Papa Smurf), our Lynnfield team is a diverse collection of passionate outdoor athletes who are ready to help you have more fun outside.

Here are a few of them you can expect to meet when you stop by and be sure to like the Eastern Mountain Sports Lynnfield Facebook page for grand opening details and ongoing events.

BrittanyClimbing
Brittany Bauman

As you can tell from the photo above, Brittany loves rock climbing. She’s also a big fan of obstacle course racing, hiking and camping and would love to travel to the western national parks. When she’s not working at Eastern Mountain Sports Lynnfield Massachusetts, Brittany teaches music and learning as much as she can about nutrition and how it supports an active lifestyle.

TJ

TJ White

TJ is a Texas native who grew up outdoors, climbing trees as a kid and hiking mountains as an adult. TJ credits the Boy Scouts for filling him with a love for nature and passion for camping, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, and kayaking. He especially enjoys wilderness survival and would love to put his skills to the test in Tibet, New Zealand, and Chile.

Peggy
Peggy Conlon

For most people, having kids means less time to do the things they love. Not so for Peggy who says she’s been more active on a daily basis since she became a parent than ever before. That’s saying something considering she and her husband spent their honeymoon wandering around the country for two months, living out of their car with nothing but a cooler and their camping gear. Peggy is an active volunteer who keeps a knitting blog in her spare time.

Kevin Dwyer

“Papa Smurf” is a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and prouder father of five and grandfather of three.  Kevin loves hiking, backpacking, fishing, hunting, camping, photography and music–which (believe it or not) includes ballet. This well-rounded family man took up guitar at age 50 and enjoys history and teaching.

Lindy Hayden
Lindy Hayden

A two-time alumnae of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and future Master’s in Education candidate, Lindy is wholly-committed to the outdoor lifestyle and helping others to be more active. She started backpacking in high school via wilderness leadership programs and has worked in outdoor education/wilderness therapy leading multi-week trips in Colorado, Utah, California and Idaho. She’ll only be with us until next summer when she moves to Seattle for school so be sure to meet Lindy while you can!

Michael

Michael Grobicki

Much like Lindy above, Michael is a  2009 NOLS graduate who spent his semester in Alaska.  Michael graduated from the University of Vermont where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in  Geography with a minor in Geology and was a member of the UVM cycling team. He’s an active snowboarder, hiker, mountain biker, and rock climber.

Ania

Ania Krzywicki, Guide

The opening of the Lynnfield Massachusetts store is perfect timing for Ania who claims fall as her favorite season followed closely by winter.  She loves the White Mountains where she enjoys running, hiking, backpacking, cycling and skiing “without bugs and crazy crowds…with leafless trees, amazing views…the beauty and silence of the snow.” Ania loves maps, her EMS Divergence Fleece jacket and claims that she ALWAYS hikes in knee-high gaiters.

James Spica Jr.

James  spends over 100 days a year on the water fly-fishing in both salt and fresh water. When he’s not fly fishing, you might find him surfing, skimboarding, or hunting pheasants. He is a grad student at Emerson College, the Editor of Michigan Trout magazine, and a sucker for pugs.

These are just a few of the dedicated people ready to help you at the all-new store Eastern Mountain Sports Lynnfield Massachusetts. The crew hope to see you soon and we can’t wait to hear what you think!

Jim Darroch

Jim's love for the outdoors began with family camping trips in "Brady Bunch" style canvas tents and progressed to backpacking adventures with the Boy Scouts. In 2007, he fulfilled his teenage dream by joining Eastern Mountain Sports as Brand Communications Manager. When he's not in the office, you'll find Jim kayaking, hiking, and mountain biking around the Monadnock Region and throughout New England with his wife Brenda and his dog Brewski.
