SUP is Everywhere: 2013 Schools Preview

If you were near a body of water this summer chances are you saw how popular SUP (stand up paddleboarding) has become. On the ocean, in a lake or river, SUP paddlers were everywhere and this was also evident this summer with our buzzing SUP rentals and learn to paddle classes at Lincoln Woods in Rhode Island. Many of those who were introduced to SUP at Lincoln Woods continued on to touring and are now hooked.

Learning to paddle is just the beginning. This year, EMS Schools will be offering progressive SUP tours and adventures ranging from beginner and intermediate trips, sunset sunrise and moonlight paddles. It’s our goal to help you take your SUP skills to the next level.

Just a few weeks ago the SUP team mapped out a 9mile” Downwinder” from Tiverton to Sakonnet Harbor – perfect for those who have SUP experience and are ready to go the distance. We will be mapping out a variety of tours over the winter around Narragansett Bay and Boston Harbor. For those who are ready to make SUP a sport of choice, EMS will be hosting SUP race and fitness clinics. I’ll save the details on those new program for a future post.  I guess you could say…EMS Schools never really puts their boards away for the winter. Enjoy the snow, keep your core strong and check back in a few weeks for complete SUP fitness course descriptions along with a proper introduction to our outstanding instructor, Casi Rynowski. Have fun out there!
